Hooray. The FDA has banned the preventative use of a commonly used antibiotic in all major livesotck. This is a major win for all of us because the practice of low dose drugs put into animal feed has been speeding the adaptation of bacterial resistance to these drugs. It is also a waste of resources, cruel treatment of animals, and helps pollute the down stream water systems from most confined animal operations.
